Also during Christmas time, she is always seen sometimes providing hot meals to the needy, sometimes giving toys to children and toiletries to women in poverty. For Sophia, active and concrete solidarity makes people better.

Moreover, in 2004, with the support of her husband, the American Chamber of Commerce and the Pan American Development Foundation, she initiated and organized a telethon that raised more than 11,000,000.00 gourdes for the victims of floods in Fond-Verrettes and Mapou. In November 2008, she was honored by the President of Haiti, Mr. Rene Préval by receiving the “National Order Honor and Merit in the rank of Knight” for her involvement and unconditional support to the victims of the collapsed school of Nerette (Pétion-Ville).

Whithin the Fondation Rose et Blanc (FREB), as coordinator and co-founder, her altruism, opened spirit and availability has allowed her to put her commitment and perseverance at the service of those in most need.

Gifted with a keen sense of organization, Sophia Martelly, combining the roles, not without difficulty, of mother, educator, wife and manager of FREB, has strived to always give the best of herself in favor of others.
