Michel Joseph Martelly, icon of the Haitian show business does not need no introduction and is publicly known for his immense contribution to Haitian music. However in order to well perceive the real personality of this passionate for the work well done, it becomes imperative to highlight his acute sense of the other.

Many compositions of Michel Martelly reflected some of his preoccupations in particular his concern for the well-being of his fellow citizens. Supported by his spouse Sophia and his children, he engaged himself in humanitarian actions to the point of soliciting the participation of certain friends to realized purely social activities. Because of the success encountered due to his immense popularity and the growing importance of the contributions obtained, this family initiative rapidly transformed itself in a social movement which was to take a legal form, in September 2008, under the name “Fondation Rose et Blanc (FREB)”.

Upon its creation, the FREB which objective is to better the social sanitary and economic conditions of the Haitians, put itself in contact with governmental and international organizations, NGO’s and other partners to share experience and know how.

Brought to the top by his sure talents as a musician and a leader, Michel proved to everyone that his gifts and his big heart can serve as hosts for initiatives, ambitions, nobles and free of low interest and this, toward a unique goal: help those who are in need.
